CPR Forward: Our Vision for 2025 and Beyond

At New Jersey Community Property Reinvestment (NJCPR), CPR Forward is more than a plan—it’s our promise to lead New Jersey into a new era of community strength and housing equity by 2025 and beyond. Rooted in our mission to revitalize neighborhoods and provide sustainable housing solutions, this initiative builds on decades of impact to address the evolving needs of our state. With CPR Forward, we’re setting our sights on transformative goals: doubling affordable housing options, amplifying resident support, and pioneering eco-friendly development—all while keeping communities at the heart of every decision.

Our first pillar for 2025 is expanding housing access like never before. Through CPR Forward, we aim to deliver 200 new affordable homes across urban and suburban New Jersey, targeting high-need areas like Newark, Camden, and Paterson. By scaling programs like HomeAssist Downpayment Assistance and CPR Living, we’ll break down financial and physical barriers, making homeownership and secure rentals a reality for families, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Partnerships with local governments and private developers will fuel this growth, ensuring every project reflects the unique character and needs of its community.

Beyond building homes, CPR Forward doubles down on empowering residents to thrive. In 2025, we’re enhancing our CPR RescuePlan and ConnectSphere Network (or similar support services) to reach 1,000 more New Jerseyans with foreclosure prevention, job training, and wellness resources. Imagine a single parent in Elizabeth avoiding eviction, a veteran in Trenton landing a stable job, or a family in Asbury Park gaining financial literacy—these are the stories we’ll write. By weaving education and opportunity into every neighborhood we touch, we’re fostering resilience that lasts generations.

Sustainability is the heartbeat of CPR Forward’s vision. This year, we’re committing to green building practices—think solar panels, energy-efficient designs, and community gardens—in at least 50% of our projects, from Vineland to Jersey City. These efforts not only lower costs for residents but also protect New Jersey’s environment for the future. Coupled with initiatives like CPR Property Relief, which helps families sell distressed properties responsibly, we’re ensuring our growth doesn’t just meet today’s needs—it safeguards tomorrow’s communities too.
